Part of our trip to San Diego was to visit the USS Midway, an aircraft city, I mean carrier. Um. It’s big. The Things loved it—partly because they got to pilot immovable objects. From the front of the house looking north, 1:20pm. Then from the back of the house facing southwest at 1:25 pm. Then through the trees on the boys’ fort facing south southeast @1:28pm. Then I checked out the fort fort a sec, structurally, and turned around. Facing north (again) at 1:35pm… and north northwest. It’s the contrast of the deep blue, the bright white, and the dark grey that always gets me. Sure HOPE it rains....

We had an ugly counter when we moved in. (You’ll have to trust me) I had neither time nor money to fix it properly in 2006–plus I had a 3yo rug rat who woudln’t let me think much less tile a counter.
