…when all you have is the fabric?!<\/p>\n

We inherited two items of furniture, one from each side of the family–a chair from the Husband’s grandmother and an indoor bench from mine.<\/p>\n

Both need recovering.<\/p>\n

There is not a chance we can afford to have it done for us, but I kept looking at the cushions and thinking… “I could do that…”<\/p>\n

You know, in my spare time.<\/p>\n

Here’s the chair, mit fabric.<\/p>\n

And here’s the bench–you’ll notice I tried to (mercifully) cover the avocado green tweedy fabric that’s there right now with the new fabric.<\/p>\n

Both have piping and both could use a little more stuffing, but I think that’s easy enough. I’m planning to take out the piping and make new with the fabric. \u00a0 From what I can tell, there’s this way to make piping strips<\/a>, and then I found this pdf of how to make continuous bias strips<\/a>. I think I’m in love.<\/p>\n
