What can you do living gluten-free when it comes to holidays. A lot, actually. I’ll share my stunning success at Thanksgiving Stuffing shortly, but there’s a more dire topic at hand: Jelly Donuts! Even if you don’t celebrate the festival of lights, you probably know that Chanukah is a celebration surrounded by a puddle of oil—symbolic oil and cooking oil. Symbolically, historically, there was only enough clean oil left...
The Story so Far
Monday, September 27, 2010-Tuesday, September 28, 2010 DH drives me to airport after spending frantic morning at last-minute self-employment deluge. Appear to have left without hair brush. Figures. Trip begins auspiciously with gluten-free beer in Delta Terminal bar/sushi bar of the Tucson Int’l (snort) Airport. Guess I shouldn’t snort. They have GF beer. Surrounded by happy travelers with lovely smiles. Sat next to only funny...
Improvements!

First, a regular baguette has dough that’s been kneaded into elasticity, then left to rise in a warm environment. Most gluten-free bread is...
Ciminumum Rolls!
I went to Gluten Free Steve via Google for his yeast-free cinnamon roll recipe (yeast free out of impatience, not allergy). I was not disappointed. Except in looks. I can’t get my build to look like his! I followed his instructions but, as you can see, my roll dough is rather blobby (buttery, but blobby). There is no cutting I can do. They still look okay in the pan, they won’t hold up on their own in a regular pan, sadly. Today,...
