You may recall that we did The Scarlet Letter years ago on CraftLit. I’ve not transferred it to Just-the-Books or into the Shoppe as an Audiobook With Benefits, but I do have the links.
Why mention this now?
Because suddenly gazillions of searchers on Google are looking for “listen to the Scarlet Letter” or “Listen to Scarlet Letter free”. So. Here:

The Scarlet Letter
by Nathaniel Hawthorne. When you get into the first few chapters you’ll know why Hawthorne changed the spelling of his family name to distance himself from his Salem “hanging judge” ancestors. You’ll also be surprised at how strong Hester Prynne is. Project Gutenberg text

If you are inclined to listen to scary tales, then this one is for you. Written (a few years ago) by a 13 year old, it’s not particularly terrifying, but it is a window into the mind of a kid and what HE thought would make a good, scary tale.
You can also listen below and see new art inspired by the tale via the YouTube embed.
