I have a lot to be thankful for as 2013 rolls to a close and I’d like to do some thanking here.

Tara Swiger and the Starship folks have—as always—been amazing, creative, smart, funny, helpful, and critical in all the best ways. They’re why this site looks better and why the rest of my sites will soon look better too. They make me smile every week—pretty much every day.

Three-Books-553x230

Cooperative Press and all the cooperative-types who publish, write, edit, tech, and work there—to have two such amazing groups in my life (and there’s a little cross-over there) is truly an embarrassment of riches. Everything that CP puts out makes me marvel—most especially because it’s a small operation driven on little more than determination and good hearts. I’m lucky lucky lucky to be a part of that hive of busy bees.

My family is ever patient, funny, interesting, interested, and wonderful. I look at these two boys and wonder how in the world Andrew and I got so lucky. (And then I look at Andrew and wonder how in the world I hooked him?!)

And then there’s you. You who read, who knit, who listen, who support, and who generally giggle with me when I find goofy things to share.
Thank you.

Blogs are a weird thing as we could all just be (and often are) whistling in the dark. But there you are—I see the stats and I see many of your names and it just makes me grin. In 2014 I’ll be blogging a book on the topic I spoke at in Boston earlier this year—Cognitive Anchoring—and how knitting, crocheting, and doddling make you smarter.

I’ll have more details on that soon, but until then, I hope you and your families have the Merriest of Christmases, the happiest of New Years’, and the most wonderful start to 2014.

Thank you,

NewSig
